AI Voice Designer

About the role

Voice is a critical surface for AI agents – its warmth, tone, pacing, accent and personality shape the first impression of a brand. Sierra is looking for a technical Voice Designer to own the craft of creating production‑quality AI voices for European customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement natural‑sounding, production‑ready voices for European locales, from concept through launch.
• Tune voices using Sierra’s platform tooling, including command‑line prompts and pull‑requests.
• Source, direct and record voice talent, then edit and prepare audio files for the synthesis pipeline.
• Partner with customers to translate brand personality and technical constraints into concrete voice specifications.
• Define and measure voice quality metrics such as naturalness, brand fit and intelligibility.
• Manage a network of native‑language contractors and build repeatable evaluation processes.
• Provide feedback to the platform team to shape tools that enable self‑serve voice design at scale.

Required profile

• Professional experience in audio, sound or voice design (e.g., sound designer, audio designer, voice/UX audio designer).
• Hands‑on experience recording and editing speech, directing voice talent and working in professional studio settings.
• Familiarity with speech synthesis, TTS or voice‑cloning technologies (e.g., ElevenLabs).
• Demonstrated taste and craft in how things sound, with a portfolio of voice or sonic branding work.
• Comfort with command‑line tooling, basic scripting and making code‑level configuration tweaks.
• Experience working directly with clients to deliver on expectations and timelines.
