Air Export Clerk

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Air Export Clerk to join our busy export operations team at a well‑established freight forwarding business near Heathrow. You will manage end‑to‑end air export shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, customs compliance and high levels of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage air export shipments from booking through departure.
• Prepare and process export documentation, including Air Waybills (AWBs), House Air Waybills (HAWBs), customs declarations and related paperwork.
• Complete export customs entries in line with HMRC regulations.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customers and transport providers to ensure smooth freight movement.
• Produce accurate freight quotations and provide regular shipment updates to customers.
• Collaborate with warehouse, operations and finance teams to ensure efficient processing.
• Handle customer invoicing and maintain operational records.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience managing air export shipments from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of air freight export operations and customs procedures.
• Experience completing export customs entries.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast‑paced environment.
• Eligibility for a five‑year checkable employment history and DBS check.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CargoWise (advantageous).

What we offer

• Salary between £32,000 and £38,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑17:30 working hours.
