Allocations and Lettings Officer

About the role

Join BPHA as an Allocations and Lettings Officer and help ensure that social and affordable homes are allocated fairly, efficiently and in line with policy and legal obligations. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with internal teams, local authorities and partner organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate BPHA’s social and affordable rental properties according to allocation policies and local authority agreements.
• Assess applicant suitability by reviewing housing need, affordability and tenancy history.
• Minimise rent loss through swift turnaround of vacant properties.
• Process tenancy changes and ensure legal compliance with legislation and BPHA policies.
• Deliver customer‑focused service, building trust and enhancing the tenant experience.
• Ensure tenancies are legally ended and refunds are processed accurately.

Required profile

• Experience or strong understanding of social housing.
• Familiarity with Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) requirements (desirable).
• Confidence using standard IT tools such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or willingness to learn new systems.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage a busy workload.
• Self‑motivated, organised and comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders.

• Permanent contract (37 hours per week, 9 am‑5 pm).
