Analytical Chemist – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

The role involves analysing chemical samples for a global chemicals company on a six‑month contract. You will work in a laboratory environment in Brimsdown, applying approved analytical procedures while meeting strict accuracy, precision and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sample analysis using approved methods, ensuring required accuracy and precision.
• Maintain cost‑effective use of time, equipment and consumables.
• Observe all Environment, Health & Safety and security regulations.
• Complete mandatory training, online learning and analytical skills assessments.
• Apply 5S and Lean principles to uphold housekeeping and workplace efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external laboratory contacts to deliver good customer service.
• Undertake any additional duties within your skill set as reasonably instructed.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC in Chemistry or a related subject, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Non‑smoking/vaping environment due to chemical handling.
• Strong safety awareness and experience in analytical chemistry.

Required skills

• Laboratory analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025 standards.
• Understanding of Lean foundations and 5S methodology.
• Familiarity with Guidant, Carbon60, Lorien and SRG systems.

• Fixed‑term six‑month contract.
• Hourly rate of £19.69.
