Analytics Analyst (Metals and Mining)

About the role

Fastmarkets is seeking an Analytics Analyst to support its metals and mining research team. You will help investors, companies and policymakers navigate volatile commodity markets by collecting, analysing and delivering data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and procure the data inputs required for forecasting supply, demand, capacity and prices across mining and metals markets.
• Oversee data cleaning, validation and integration to ensure analytical robustness.
• Develop, produce and regularly update house forecasts for supply, demand, cost and price metrics.
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly market outlooks and other research publications.
• Provide insight on market developments, technology trends, regulations, trade flows, ESG factors and supply‑chain dynamics.
• Support the maintenance and development of cost models and asset‑level datasets.
• Respond to client and internal enquiries, delivering data and analysis for presentations and bespoke requests.
