Analytics Engineer – Data Pipelines & Power BI

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation at an early stage of its data journey, giving you genuine influence over how data is designed, modelled and used across the business. You will sit at the heart of a growing data function, working end‑to‑end from ingestion through to reporting while engaging with both technical delivery and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Integrate data from core business systems such as finance, HR and operational platforms.
• Develop and improve a lakehouse architecture supporting ingestion, transformation and consumption layers.
• Create robust, well‑structured data models following Kimball methodology and star‑schema design.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into usable data assets.
• Support and enhance the Power BI reporting layer, including semantic models and DAX calculations.
• Help establish data standards, patterns and ways of working as the data function expands.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience in a cloud‑based data environment, preferably Azure.
• Solid SQL expertise with a track record of building reliable, scalable data models.
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI, including data modelling and reporting.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and concepts such as lakehouse or medallion architecture.
• Exposure to Databricks for data transformation and pipeline development is highly desirable.
• Confident communicator able to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
