Android Engineer – Mobile Applications (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are seeking an Android Engineer to join a leading client’s London team. You will work on high‑scale Android applications that serve millions of users worldwide, delivering innovative features and ensuring top‑notch performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance Android apps using Kotlin and modern frameworks.
• Implement features following best practices, asynchronous patterns and clean architecture.
• Collaborate with designers, product owners, QA and other engineers in an agile environment.
• Integrate apps with backend APIs and legacy services.
• Write maintainable, testable code and perform debugging, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Gradle, CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing Android applications with Kotlin (Java knowledge for legacy code is a plus).
• Strong understanding of Android patterns, Jetpack libraries and MVI architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with REST API integration and API documentation formats.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flows, RxJava).
• Experience in unit and integration testing using Espresso, JUnit and WireMock.
