Animal Care Lecturer – Teach in Further Education

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Animal Care Lecturers to deliver high‑quality teaching for a range of Further Education providers across South East England. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the knowledge and skills of learners pursuing careers in animal welfare, husbandry, and related sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Animal Care lessons for diverse learner groups.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes student retention and progression.
• Support learners in developing practical understanding of animal health, handling, behaviour and husbandry.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Animal Care, Zoology, Veterinary Nursing, Animal Science or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Animal Care in Further Education, Higher Education, secondary or adult learning settings.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
