Anti‑Social Behaviour Officer – St Helens

About the role

This fixed‑term position supports a leading social housing organisation in St Helens, focusing on anti‑social behaviour (ASB) and tenancy breaches across the Heartlands area. You will work from the St Helens office as part of a proactive community safety team, collaborating with residents, partner agencies and internal colleagues to create safer neighbourhoods.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of serious ASB and tenancy breach cases from investigation through to resolution.
• Conduct interviews, gather evidence, take witness statements and prepare documentation for legal action.
• Work closely with legal teams to draft and serve notices and court papers.
• Attend court hearings and provide evidence when required.
• Support Housing and Neighbourhood Officers with case advice and evidence collection.
• Liaise with police, local authorities, mediation services and support agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure vulnerable residents receive appropriate support throughout investigations.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes in housing management systems.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing management or community safety cases.
• Strong knowledge of ASB legislation, tenancy enforcement processes and legal remedies.
• Proven ability to prepare evidence and support court proceedings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to handle a demanding caseload and prioritise effectively.
• Experience working with vulnerable customers and challenging situations.

Required skills

• Good IT proficiency and experience using housing or case‑management systems.

What we offer

• Hourly rate between £18.82 and £24.36, paid weekly through Hays.
• Potential for contract extension based on performance.
