Application Developer (HR Applications)

About the role

Join Sobeys as an Application Developer focused on HR‑related systems. You will design, build, and support software solutions that enable our HR teams to work efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Identify functional and technical solutions for HR applications.
• Develop detailed functional, technical and operational specifications.
• Provide accurate effort estimates from analysis and design.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with IT standards.
• Code, test, and analyze software throughout the development lifecycle.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation before production deployment.
• Deliver Level 2 & Level 3 application support, troubleshooting root causes.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve incidents promptly.
• Communicate backlog status, incidents and project updates to relevant teams.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree or minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of application development, support and delivery.
• Experience with integrations, data flows and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with outsourced service providers and vendor management.
