Applications Engineer – Industrial Machinery

About the role

We are seeking an Applications Engineer to join our experienced team in Watford. The role combines hands‑on machine installation, customer training and the development of machining strategies to ensure clients get the best performance from their equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customer sites across the UK and Ireland to install, set up and commission industrial machines.
• Deliver operator and engineer training for customers and dealer networks.
• Develop machining methods, tooling strategies and CNC programs to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Support the sales team with technical demonstrations, time studies and solution design.
• Provide on‑site and telephone technical support, and attend exhibitions and customer events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar role within CNC machinery or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of metal‑cutting processes, tooling and machining methods.
• Ability to design complete manufacturing processes for finished components.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and a practical engineering mindset.
• Confident communication with customers, operators and dealers.
