Apprentice 7.5t Urban Driver

About the role

DX Network Services is offering a 15‑month Urban Driver Apprenticeship for a 7.5‑tonne (Category C1) vehicle. The programme combines on‑the‑job driving with classroom‑based training, leading to a full Category C1 licence and CPC certification.

Key responsibilities

• Drive 7.5t vehicles safely and in compliance with all legal and company requirements.
• Perform daily vehicle checks, report defects and complete required paperwork.
• Load and unload deliveries, ensuring goods are secured and scanned using DX equipment.
• Represent DX professionally when interacting with customers and colleagues.
• Complete non‑driving duties such as office work, assisting drivers and basic warehousing tasks.
• Manage routing to meet premium and timed delivery commitments.
• Report any on‑road or delivery issues to the traffic office promptly.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain a Category C1 (7.5t) licence.
• Eligibility to acquire a CPC licence, a legal requirement for LGV vehicles.
• Ability to work safely, follow DX procedures and use personal protective equipment.
• Professional attitude and good communication when dealing with customers.
