Apprentice Academy Centre Manager – UK Operations

About the role

The Apprentice Academy Centre Manager will lead the day‑to‑day and strategic operations of Amazon’s Engineering Apprenticeship Training Academy at the LCY2 site. Reporting to the Senior Apprenticeship Program Manager, you will ensure high‑quality apprenticeship delivery and compliance with all regulatory and Amazon standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall management of the Amazon Apprentice Academy, develop and implement the centre strategy, and manage the budget and resources.
• Oversee training centre operations, including equipment, facilities, consumables, health & safety, and act as the awarding‑body centre coordinator.
• Occasionally deliver teaching or training to cover staff absences.
• Lead, manage and develop the delivery team, liaise with apprentice managers on attendance and progress, and coordinate with external training providers.
• Maintain and improve training quality through observations, assessment standardisation, and compliance with Ofsted and awarding‑body requirements.
• Contribute to internal quality assurance processes such as QUIP and SAR and drive apprentice progress.
• Act as a trained Safeguarding Officer, manage concerns and incidents, keep confidential records and liaise with authorities when required.

Required profile

• Experience managing curriculum or apprenticeship programmes in a Further Education college or commercial provider.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering apprenticeship delivery.
• Holding or working towards a recognised Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) or Internal Verifier (IV) qualification.
• Experience with health & safety, safeguarding and compliance frameworks (e.g., Ofsted).
