Apprentice Bodyshop Technician

About the role

Sytner BMW Chigwell is offering a full‑time apprenticeship as a Bodyshop Technician. You will work towards an Accident Repair Technician qualification, covering paint, panel work and Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) skills within a leading BMW and MINI bodyshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Remove and refit vehicle mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Assist with repairs following accident damage.
• Use specialist tools and diagnostic equipment to meet manufacturer and industry standards.
• Prepare vehicles and panels for painting, mix and apply paint, and carry out colour matching.
• Repair minor paint defects and deliver a high‑quality finish on premium vehicles.

Required profile

• GCSE A‑C/9‑4 or Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and one other subject.
• Passion for automotive technology and hands‑on problem solving.
• Curiosity to learn across paint, panel and MET disciplines.
• Attention to detail, reliability and a team‑oriented attitude.
• No prior experience required – a genuine interest in vehicles is essential.
