Apprentice Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Join Bosch Rexroth’s Glenrothes plant as an Apprentice Manufacturing Engineer. You will gain hands‑on experience designing, developing and producing radial piston motors while studying at college and working alongside experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Attend college courses and on‑site training throughout the apprenticeship.
• Complete all training modules on time, supported by external auditors.
• Develop mechanical knowledge in CNC machining and understand metrology and tooling used in production.
• Create and refine standard working methods, including tooling, fixturing, work‑holding and work instructions.
• Assist in preparing CNC programs for new or updated components and establish initial cycle times through proofing.
• Adhere to Bosch Rexroth’s policies, procedures and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum of four National Five qualifications (Level 4) including English, Maths, Science and a technical subject such as Graphic Communication or Physics.
• Relevant NC qualification (Intermediate 2 Maths plus one Higher in a Science/Technical subject) is advantageous.
• General hands‑on mechanical experience.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Logical problem‑solving approach and clear verbal and written communication.
