Apprenticeships Curriculum Lead – Physical Education

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Physical Education professional to lead and develop our PE apprenticeship curriculum. This senior‑level position combines teaching expertise, curriculum design, mentoring and educational leadership within a values‑driven organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Own the quality, development and delivery of the Physical Education apprenticeship programmes.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to translate strategic direction into curriculum outcomes.
- Act as the primary liaison between central office, tutors, apprentices, schools, employers and regional partners.
- Deliver selected programme elements personally while overseeing a network of internal tutors, freelance specialists and regional hubs.
- Support the growth and management of the freelance tutor network.
Required profile
- Qualified Physical Education teacher with several years of classroom experience.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other educators.
- Experience in curriculum leadership, teacher training or apprenticeship delivery is desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
