Approved Electrician – Birmingham

About the role

EMCOR UK is seeking a qualified Approved Electrician to join its Birmingham team. You will work on a variety of electrical projects within a highly regulated environment, ensuring safety, compliance and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver electrical installations and associated equipment, providing full certification.
• Isolate and diagnose defective equipment, perform visual inspections and mechanical testing, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare estimates and quotations as required.
• Manage work orders from receipt through to completion, reporting progress regularly.
• Adhere to company procedures, the Quality Management System and Good Manufacturing Practice.
• Collaborate with a mobile team of electrical, mechanical and building operatives.
• Develop relationships with existing clients and identify potential new customers.

Required profile

• Post‑apprenticeship experience in electrical installation within a regulated setting.
• Willingness to undertake internal training workshops.
• Ability to work on a secure, manned site and in a mobile team.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and value for money.

Required skills

• City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 (or equivalent).
• NVQ qualification.
• C&G 2382 – 18th Edition.
• C&G 2391‑10 Inspection & Testing.
• C&G 2391‑20 Design & Verification (advantageous).
• Experience with high‑voltage systems.
• Proven electrical installation and certification skills.
