Architectural Technician – Senior Level

About the role

A well‑established architectural practice just outside Exeter is seeking an experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist to lead the technical delivery of projects, with a focus on housing schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of projects from planning through construction.
• Produce and oversee detailed construction drawing packages.
• Collaborate closely with clients and consultant teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
• Manage and supervise projects on site, maintaining quality and compliance.
• Coordinate consultants and resolve technical queries during construction.
• Ensure projects meet UK Building Regulations and industry best practice.
• Mentor and support junior team members as required.

Required profile

• Relevant architectural qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience within a UK architectural practice.
• Strong background in housing projects, preferably with developer clients.
• Experience across industrial, leisure, hotel and commercial sectors is beneficial.
• Confidence in managing on‑site projects and overseeing technical delivery.
• Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (essential).
• Revit (preferred, training provided).
