Area Housing Operations Manager – London

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Area Housing Operations Manager to lead a major works programme from a housing management perspective in the City of London. The role combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day operational delivery, ensuring services are high‑quality, value‑for‑money and customer‑focused.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the major works programme, maintaining clear communication and support for residents throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead all Housing Services within the area, aligning delivery with stakeholder needs and corporate objectives.
• Inspire, coach and manage a multidisciplinary team to achieve departmental and service targets.
• Develop and maintain estate development plans, including maintenance and improvement programmes.
• Collaborate with elected members, authorities and partner agencies to provide integrated housing services.
• Ensure financial efficiency, budget control and compliance with City policies on health and safety, equality and sustainability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years senior management experience in a complex organisation.
• At least 3 years managing landlord or housing services.
• Graduate‑level education; professional qualifications such as MCIH are desirable.
• Proven ability to operate strategically and operationally, driving change and new ways of working.
• Strong knowledge of financial control and budget monitoring.
