Area Manager – Central Operations (1‑year Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Central Operations Area Manager will lead a shift of up to ten associates at Amazon’s last‑mile delivery network. This 1‑year fixed‑term position is based in Dunstable and focuses on ensuring a smooth, cost‑effective delivery experience for customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily headcount for delivery stations from a central perspective.
• Allocate labour, train new associates and act as the primary escalation point for the team.
• Monitor and enforce SOP compliance, SLA response times and operational metrics.
• Use quantitative analysis to identify and implement best‑practice improvements.
• Provide regular status updates to Area and Operations Managers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading small teams in a fast‑paced operational setting.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make decisions quickly.
• Comfort with data‑driven decision making and KPI monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal partners and external delivery partners.
