Area Sales Manager – Food Service

About the role

We are seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead our Food Service sales across the Bristol and Southwest region. The position blends account management of an established catering customer base with proactive new‑business development, reporting to the regional sales director.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with existing customers across the assigned territory.
• Identify, approach and win new catering accounts.
• Re‑engage dormant or lapsed accounts to recover revenue.
• Respond to inbound sales enquiries and leads promptly.
• Collaborate with internal buying, operations and depot‑based telesales teams to ensure smooth onboarding and order fulfilment.
• Maintain accurate records of customer visits, activity and sales pipeline.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy.
• Contribute to regional sales campaigns and achieve set targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in food, catering or a related field sales role.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
• Strong relationship‑building and negotiation abilities.
• Organised, self‑motivated and capable of managing a territory independently.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
