Area Sales Manager – Gloucestershire & Herefordshire

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to cover Gloucestershire and Herefordshire for a well‑established business in the plumbing, pipeline and merchant sector. The role is field‑based, allowing you to build strong relationships with existing customers while generating new business across the territory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing customer accounts throughout Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Generate enquiries, progress quotations and convert them into profitable sales.
• Collaborate closely with internal sales and branch teams to maximise opportunities.
• Achieve sales and margin targets and provide regular performance reports.
• Maintain an organised diary to maximise customer contact time.

Required profile

• Proven experience in external/field sales or business development, preferably within builders’ merchants, plumbing, pipeline or construction supplies.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to spot sales opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Highly organised with strong time‑management skills.
• Self‑motivated, trustworthy and able to work independently.
• Full UK driving licence and preferably based locally in Gloucester.
