Area Sales Manager – Homebased/Field Sales

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Area Sales Manager to join Brakes’ independent sales team, covering Exeter, Taunton and Yeovil. The role is home‑based with regular field visits, offering the chance to drive growth for our food‑service portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture strong relationships with independent sector customers.
• Grow and retain accounts, delivering profitable volume growth against targets.
• Monitor competitor activity and propose the best local solutions.
• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to hand over new customer requirements.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Brakes in the local market.
• Adopt new technology and modernisation programmes, including optional use of Salesforce.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field sales, preferably within food‑service or wholesale.
• Self‑starter with a tenacious, resilient attitude and a track record of meeting targets.
• Customer‑focused mindset, eager to continuously improve and develop.
• Comfortable using digital tools and learning new systems.

Required skills

• Salesforce (advantageous)
