Area Sales Manager – North (BD/WF)

About the role

Reporting to the Branch Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing the northern sales territory while delivering excellent customer service across a variety of industry sectors. The role is split between 80% new business development and 20% account management of existing Crown customers, requiring a consultative approach from shop‑floor to board‑level.

Key responsibilities

• Grow the assigned northern sales territory through new business development and account management.
• Prospect, arrange appointments, deliver presentations and product demonstrations, and close sales deals.
• Plan and manage territory activities, including scheduling visits and tracking performance against targets.
• Adopt a consultative approach, engaging stakeholders from shop‑floor staff to board‑level executives to understand customer operations and identify opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably within the materials handling or related equipment sector.
• Proven ability to generate new business and manage existing customer relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with awareness of market trends and competitors.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the northern region.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience using a cloud‑based CRM system.
