Area Sales Manager – Oxford (Home‑based/Field)

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Area Sales Manager to lead our Oxford territory. Working from home while covering the field, you will drive growth for a regional food wholesaler that is part of the global Sysco network.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, acquire and retain independent foodservice customers to achieve profitable volume growth against targets.
• Research the market and uncover opportunities within the assigned area.
• Build strong, face‑to‑face relationships with customers, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Onboard new accounts efficiently while nurturing existing relationships and monitoring activity.
• Partner with clients to support their growth plans, offering a wide range of products and practical solutions.
• Monitor competitor activity and ensure the best local proposals are presented.

Required profile

• Proven ability to win new business and maximise sales from existing accounts.
• Background in field sales or account management, preferably within foodservice.
• Commercially astute with a strong passion for sales.
• Comfortable working independently in a home‑based contract.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
