Area Service Manager – Birmingham & Midlands

About the role

We are seeking an Area Service Manager to lead a busy field service operation across Birmingham and the wider Midlands, including Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Telford and Shrewsbury. This fast‑paced role combines people leadership, operational delivery and customer management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of field‑based technicians.
• Plan and oversee maintenance, repairs, defects and call‑outs.
• Ensure planned maintenance is completed safely and on time.
• Run regular planning and performance calls.
• Manage customer queries and complaints through to resolution.
• Monitor productivity, operational performance and costs.
• Support team development, capability and career progression.

Required profile

• Leadership experience within a field service or operational environment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Confidence influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of cost control.
