Art Teacher

About the role
As an Art Teacher you will deliver engaging and imaginative lessons that develop students' practical skills, creativity, and appreciation of visual culture. You will encourage experimentation across a variety of media and techniques, helping learners build confidence in expressing their ideas visually while supporting GCSE and A‑Level Art & Design where applicable.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art.
- Develop students' creativity, technical skills, and critical understanding of art.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress.
- Support GCSE and A‑Level Art & Design programmes.
- Maintain a safe and inspiring studio environment.
- Contribute to exhibitions, displays, and extracurricular art clubs.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, or a related subject (preferred but not essential).
- Strong portfolio and practical art skills.
- Passion for creative education and visual arts.
- Ability to motivate and support students of all abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Willingness to contribute to wider school life and creative projects.
