ASD Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for KS2 Pupils (Haringey)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with autism spectrum disorder in a primary school in Haringey. The role starts in September and runs on a long‑term, full‑time basis, offering a supportive environment where you can help the child achieve academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 assistance to the KS2 pupil, adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies.
• Encourage positive behaviour and foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Monitor the pupil’s progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team.
• Assist with classroom routines and transitions as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder in a school setting.
• Strong commitment to the wellbeing and development of SEN pupils.
• Reliable attendance and ability to travel consistently to Haringey.
• Patience, empathy and enthusiasm for inclusive education.
