About the role
Join a highly regarded secondary school in North West London to support students on the autism spectrum in Years 7‑11. You will work closely with a dedicated SENDCO and a multi‑skilled team to deliver personalised assistance in both one‑to‑one and small‑group settings.
Key responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to ASD students across a range of subjects.
- Implement and adapt communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to monitor progress.
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
- Contribute to the development of individualized learning plans.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in primary or secondary education.
- Specific experience working with pupils on the autism spectrum.
- Ability to work effectively within a large, multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible, adaptable and driven to support student development.
Required skills
- Knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
- Familiarity with Makaton signing.
