ASD Tutor – 1:1 Support for Young Adult

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate tutor to deliver one‑to‑one support for a 20‑year‑old learner with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Obsessive‑Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The role is based in Fareham (also covering Gosport), involves 12 hours per week, and starts in September.
Key responsibilities
- Provide structured, personalised tutoring that addresses cognition, communication, sensory processing and social‑emotional needs.
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to promote confidence, engagement and independence.
- Monitor progress and adjust support plans in collaboration with the learner and any other professionals.
- Maintain a calm, consistent environment that respects the learner’s sensory and physical requirements.
Required profile
- Proven experience supporting learners with ASD and/or OCD.
- Understanding of special educational needs across communication, cognition, sensory processing and SEMH.
- Patient, reliable and empathetic attitude with strong relationship‑building skills.
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring or SEN support.
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check (or already holds one).
