ASIC Project Manager – Design Services

About the role

We are seeking a technical ASIC Project Manager to plan, scope, manage, track and deliver ASIC developments. The role is based in Bristol, Cambridge, Milton Park (Abingdon) or Sheffield with a hybrid working model (at least three days per week in the office). Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Project‑manage a large silicon development programme from specification through to tape‑out or production release.
• Provide leadership and motivation to the whole team, ensuring clear communication and professional behaviour.
• Set up projects, allocate team members, plan schedules, perform risk analysis and estimate budgets.
• Interface with customers to agree scope, schedule and cost, handling change requests as needed.
• Track tasks, update project plans and status reports, and drive corrective actions when exceptions arise.
• Monitor project spend and revenues, provide inputs to finance and maintain profitability projections.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS, chair key review meetings and store quality records appropriately.
• Release deliverables to the customer under the authority of the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Proven successful management of at least one multi‑disciplined project from design phase through to tape‑out.
• Technical background in chip design areas such as system design, digital design, verification, FPGA design, software or SoC design.
• BSc(Hons) or Master degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Jira or an equivalent project‑tracking tool.
• Strong knowledge of FPGA/ASIC design concepts.
• Experience in system design, digital design, verification, software design and SoC design.
