Aspiring Child Counsellor / SEN Learning Support Assistant (Camberley)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Aspiring Child Counsellor/SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with moderate learning difficulties in a mainstream secondary school in Camberley. The role offers hands‑on experience in emotional support, behaviour management and therapeutic approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Assist with a personalised and flexible curriculum.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN professionals.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and help create a safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Individuals looking to become a Child Counsellor or with SEN experience.
• Teaching assistants, care, youth work or support work backgrounds.
• Recent or soon‑to‑be graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Sociology.
• Must have right to work in the UK and be able to commute to Camberley.

Required skills

• Experience supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as Thrive and emotional literacy support.
