Aspiring Child Psychologist

About the role
This position supports a well‑established school that serves children aged 4‑11 with social, emotional and mental health challenges. It is ideal for an aspiring psychologist looking to gain hands‑on experience in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate daily with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are safe and appropriate for child use.
- Prepare, run and tidy up educational and therapeutic activities.
- Build trusting relationships with individual children to promote optimal learning and wellbeing.
- Identify and promptly report any safeguarding concerns in line with school policy.
Required profile
- A genuine desire to work with children who have special education needs.
- Compassionate, resilient and proactive attitude.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check and meet safeguarding requirements.
- Must not be barred from working with children.
- GCSE grades A*‑C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
