Aspiring Educational Psychologist / SEN Learning Support Assistant

About the role

This full‑time position offers recent or soon‑to‑be graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Sociology the chance to gain hands‑on experience in a specialist SEN school. Working in Burgess Hill, you will support children and young people with additional needs while observing educational psychology practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.
• Observe, record and report pupil progress and behaviour.
• Support emotional regulation and social interaction.
• Contribute to a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide personal care where required.

Required profile

• Degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or a related discipline.
• Patience, empathy and resilience.
• Strong observation and communication abilities.
• Proactive and reflective approach to learning.
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• Ability to commute to Burgess Hill.
