Aspiring Educational Psychologist – SEN Learning Support Assistant

About the role
This position offers psychology graduates the chance to gain hands‑on experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Working within a specialist SEN school in Burgess Hill, you will act as an Aspiring Educational Psychologist and SEN Learning Support Assistant, helping young people access learning and develop essential life skills.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management and classroom engagement.
- Support personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
- Observe, record and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
Required profile
- Degree in Psychology.
- Strong interest in mental health, child development and behaviour.
- Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to commute to Burgess Hill.
