Assembly and Test Technician – Valve Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke valves, is seeking an Assembly and Test Technician to join their Stroud facility. You will be responsible for assembling valve products and performing high‑pressure testing to ensure they meet strict quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical assembly of valve products using specialised tools and assembly aids.
• Operate high‑pressure test cells to perform functional testing of assembled valves.
• Follow documented assembly and test procedures, ensuring no deviations.
• Maintain product quality by preventing contamination or damage during handling.
• Capture all production and non‑productive time on the works traveler and report any variances.
• Uphold 5S and health‑and‑safety standards in the workshop.
• Assist with additional duties within the Assembly Department as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in assembly and testing within a workshop environment.
• Background in building small‑bore subsea valves.
• Familiarity with high‑pressure test cells and valve testing procedures.
• Knowledge of duplex and nickel‑alloy materials.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and related documentation.
