Assembly & Production Operative – Temporary (5 weeks)

About the role

We are seeking motivated Assembly and Production Operatives for an engineering client in Whitchurch. The position is a full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday day shift for an initial five‑week period, with the possibility of extension based on workload. Training will be provided on the job.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble small metal components and fiddly parts using hand tools.
• Follow basic written instructions and count parts accurately.
• Perform occasional, non‑repetitive lifting tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Collaborate with a small team to meet production targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Reliable work history and ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail, good eyesight, and patience when handling small parts.
• Basic literacy and numeracy to read instructions and perform counting.
• Positive attitude, team spirit and a good sense of humour.

Required skills

• Use of small hand tools and equipment.
• Reading and interpreting basic technical instructions.
• Basic numeracy for counting and simple measurements.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £12.78.
• Fixed‑term contract for 5 weeks, with potential extension.
