Assessment Officer – Income & Debt (SC6)

About the role
We are seeking a motivated Assessment Officer to join the Temporary Accommodation Income Team at Edmonton Green Library in Enfield. The role focuses on supporting residents with rent arrears, income, debt and benefit queries, helping them maintain their tenancies.
Key responsibilities
- Manage rent arrears cases for residents in temporary accommodation.
- Provide practical advice and set up sustainable payment arrangements.
- Assist residents with income, debt and benefit‑related enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, internal colleagues and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate records in line with relevant policies and legislation.
Required profile
- Experience in housing income, rent collection or debt management.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Empathetic and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable residents.

- Full‑time, 37‑hour week, Monday‑Friday.
- Competitive hourly rate of £18.66.
