Asset Engineer – E&P (Traction Power Systems)

About the role

The Asset Engineer (E&P) will support the planning and delivery of engineering interventions on the Anglia Route, focusing on traction power contact systems. You will work closely with Network Rail to ensure renewal, refurbishment and enhancement projects meet technical and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop route strategies and prioritised work banks, integrating items into programmes and monitoring progress.
• Specify and approve renewal requirements for E&P engineering works, including design approval and equipment acceptance criteria.
• Support project hand‑over, ensuring scope changes are agreed and deliverables are met.
• Identify nationally significant issues and contribute to the development of national standards.
• Maintain accurate records of asset configuration, modification history and as‑built status.
• Contribute to route asset management plans and carry out asset condition inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience with design, operation and maintenance of 25kV overhead line traction power systems.
• Knowledge of signalling power systems and fixed plant infrastructure.
• Ability to develop and manage engineering work programmes and assess impacts of delayed work.
• Strong understanding of asset management principles and documentation.
