Asset Lending Auditor

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established services business to recruit an Asset Lending Auditor on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role involves delivering detailed business surveys and audits for a diverse portfolio of lenders, financial institutions and commercial organisations across the UK and Europe. You will work within an experienced, collaborative team to provide commercial insight that supports informed lending decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive new‑business surveys, audit visits and commercial reviews for a broad client base.
• Produce detailed, accurate reports highlighting findings, risks and recommendations.
• Identify adverse trading trends, potential fraud indicators, security concerns and other commercial risks, escalating where appropriate.
• Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders while delivering a consultative service.
• Support colleagues on larger or more complex audit assignments as required.
• Manage workload to ensure assignments are completed within agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of audit findings in line with regulatory and client requirements.
• Escalate complex issues to senior management and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience in business surveying, auditing or commercial risk roles.
• Strong understanding of business operations and financial analysis.
• Exposure to invoice finance, asset‑based lending, factoring or invoice discounting is highly advantageous.
• Experience in broader commercial audit or financial services environments is also considered.
