Assistant Accountant – Entry Level Finance Role

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance team in Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your accounting career in a supportive, collaborative environment where you will gain hands‑on experience across core finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month‑end journals, including accruals, pre‑payments and intercompany entries.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, investigating any variances.
• Assist with year‑end audit activities, preparing schedules and responding to information requests.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions and support related billing.
• Contribute to group reporting tasks such as consolidations and reporting packs.
• Support the preparation of trial balances for management and financial reporting.
• Follow internal controls, policies and standard accounting procedures.
• Document processes and suggest improvements within the finance function.
• Collaborate with colleagues across finance and other departments to resolve queries.
