Assistant Accountant – Flexible Working in Farnham

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a modern accounting practice in Farnham, Surrey. The role offers flexible working hours, a smart office environment with parking, and the chance to develop technical accounting skills within a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping for a range of SME clients, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT Returns.
• Compile monthly management accounts.
• Produce annual statutory accounts for sole traders, LLPs and limited companies.
• Liaise with clients to answer queries and provide support.
• Work closely with HMRC on compliance matters.
• Assist in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.

Required profile

• Experience working in an accountancy firm.
• Desire to develop technical accounting skills.
• Studying or holding AAT, ACA or ACCA qualifications (non‑students also welcome).
