Assistant Accountant – Hybrid, £33k‑£36k + Study Support

About the role

An ambitious Junior Assistant Accountant is needed to join a growing finance hub in Manchester. The role offers hybrid working, full study support and exposure to a wide range of international accounting processes. It is ideal for candidates with 2‑3 years of UK accounting experience who are progressing towards ACCA or CIMA qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end close, preparing and posting journals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support inter‑company reconciliations, invoicing and statutory compliance, including VAT and other fiscal submissions.
• Provide data for audit queries, statutory information and local GAAP reviews.
• Prepare financial statements and work with AP and Billing teams on coding and cost allocations.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc finance projects, internal reporting and maintenance of strong internal controls.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of UK accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment.
• Strong bank reconciliation experience and VAT preparation, review and submission.
• Part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA candidate actively studying.
• Excellent communication, proactive attitude and ability to meet deadlines.
• Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
