Assistant Accountant – Industrial/Manufacturing (Harlow)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team of a small industrial/manufacturing business in Harlow. This temporary role offers hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day accounting operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records and reports.
• Perform bank and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle invoices, expense claims and payments.
• Keep accounting files and documentation organised and up‑to‑date.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Assist with ad‑hoc accounting tasks as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience performing the listed accounting tasks.
• Ability to start on short notice.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Motivated and able to work within a team.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required beyond standard accounting tasks.
