Assistant Accountant

About the role

Infiniium Ltd, a well‑established accounting practice in Central London, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the team immediately on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role may become permanent for a high‑performing candidate, especially if they speak Mandarin.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare up to 15 sets of small company accounts each month, delivering files ready for manager review.
• Perform bank, control account and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Resolve client queries and request outstanding information.
• Prepare supporting schedules and working papers to a review‑ready standard.
• Assist with corporation tax computations alongside the accounts, where appropriate.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the team as the client portfolio demands.

Required profile

• Experience in an accountancy practice preparing small company accounts (preferred but not essential).
• Confidence with reconciliations and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Strong Excel proficiency, including lookups, pivot tables and custom schedules.
• Highly organised with the ability to meet monthly filing deadlines.
• Part‑qualified (AAT) or studying towards ACCA/ACA.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables, schedule building).
• VT Transaction+ and VT Final Accounts knowledge.
• Mandarin language ability (advantageous for client communication).
