Assistant Accountant (Part‑Qualified) – Manchester

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance hub in Manchester. This part‑qualified position offers hands‑on experience across multiple international entities and full support to progress towards ACCA or CIMA qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end close, preparing and posting journals and producing balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support inter‑company reconciliations and invoicing.
• Share monthly data with local advisors, review local GAAP versus management accounts, and help address audit queries.
• Provide data for VAT and other statutory submissions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and work with AP and Billing teams to ensure accurate coding and cost allocation.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc finance projects, maintain strong internal controls, and support internal reporting requirements.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of UK accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment.
• Strong bank reconciliation experience.
• Experience preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns.
• Part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA candidate actively studying.
• Excellent communication, proactive attitude and willingness to take on increasing responsibility.
• Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
