Assistant Architectural Technologist

About the role

Willmott Dixon is looking for an Assistant Architectural Technologist to join its in‑house design team in Hitchin. This junior‑level position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to transition from an architect practice into a collaborative construction environment. You will support design development by producing detailed design information, standard details and working drawing packages.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design team in developing detailed design information.
• Create standard details and comprehensive working drawing packages.
• Assist on live schemes and respond promptly to project needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues across regions and disciplines.
• Occasionally travel to other offices, including London.

Required profile

• Good understanding of environmental and technical design principles.
• Basic knowledge of UK Building Regulations and related legislation.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Clear, confident communication and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Experience using Revit.
• Technical awareness of materials and specifications.
• Ability to produce technical drawings.
• Familiarity with Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and warranty requirements.
