About the role
Our client, a leading Build‑to‑Rent operator, is seeking an Assistant Building Manager for its Gillingham, Kent site. This 12‑month fixed‑term position supports the Building Manager in delivering a high‑quality living experience for residents and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day site operations.
Key responsibilities
- Handle enquiries from prospective tenants via phone and email, arrange and conduct viewings, and support the lettings and onboarding process.
- Log and manage reactive maintenance requests using FixFlo, keep residents informed, and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely completion.
- Assist the leasing and contracts team with referencing, holding fees, move‑in and move‑out checklists, and Reposit eligibility checks.
- Conduct check‑in and check‑out inspections using Inventory Hive and report dilapidation findings to the Building Manager.
- Support tenancy renewals, end‑of‑tenancy works, and planned preventative maintenance coordination.
- Provide general cover for the residents’ team and help with community events as required.
Required profile
- Experience managing competing priorities in a busy, customer‑facing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting correspondence.
- Confident IT skills and a genuine interest in residential property.
- Customer‑first mindset with a high standard of personal accountability.
