Assistant Caretaker – Permanent

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Caretaker to join a busy estates team in Woking. The role combines security patrols with basic maintenance and facilities support, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular patrols and monitor access‑control points and CCTV systems.
• Respond to security incidents and follow fire‑safety and intruder‑alarm procedures.
• Perform routine building repairs, DIY tasks and basic maintenance work.
• Assist the maintenance team with repairs and set‑up rooms for events.
• Receive deliveries, manage logistics and maintain cleanliness across the premises.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a security or caretaker role.
• Basic DIY, maintenance and manual‑handling abilities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with staff and young people.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude.
• Valid driving licence (desirable) and relevant security qualifications (preferable).
