Assistant Claims Handler – Financial Lines

About the role

Our client is seeking an Assistant Claims Handler to launch a long‑term career in Financial Lines Claims. Working within a high‑performing core claims team, you will receive structured learning, on‑the‑job development and exposure to complex, high‑profile claims from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in handling Financial Lines claims (Professional Indemnity, D&O, etc.) under supervision.
• Review claim documentation, policy wordings and related materials.
• Communicate professionally with brokers, clients, insurers and external partners.
• Ensure claims are processed in line with authority levels, internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively manage claim files, keeping documentation up‑to‑date and diarised.
• Support fair, integrity‑led handling of claims according to client guidelines.
• Maintain a portfolio of Financial Lines TPA/DCA loss breakdowns and payments.
• Liaise with underwriting, finance, actuarial and reinsurance teams as needed.
• Attend market claim meetings when required.
